Olivier is back from SFN 2012 where he presented his poster on « Wide-field multiphoton imaging of cellular dynamics in thick tissue by temporal focussing and patterned illumination », available here. This demonstrates calcium imaging over a wide-field with both shaping and sectioning using a spatial light modulator and temporal focussing.  Ultimately, this allows fast imaging with better signal to background ratios than what is possible with widefield imaging.
