We are very pleased to have been awarded a Canada Excellence Research Chair in Neurophotonics for 10M$ from the Canadian Government over 7 years. The focus is innovative optical technologies in neurosciences.
New non-invasive approaches, technologies, and instruments will enable the Chair in Neurophotonics to study the mysteries of the brain in the context of Alzheimer’s disease, Lou Gehrig’s disease, epilepsy and depression, as well as other disorders and diseases. By fostering the development of key advances in understanding brain function and enhancing neurosurgery and pharmacological resources, the Chair will help confirm Quebec City’s leadership in photonics, neuroscience and mental health, and will fuel innovative breakthroughs in biomedical technology.
